Navigation Tips
All
of the pages on Cyberdiet.com are linked together in a way
that makes the users' experience of the site easy and understandable,
and include a link back to the home page. Use the navigation bar
to get to the five main sections of the site: Get Started, Eat Right,
Exercise Smart, Feel Good, and Community. To get back to the Cyberdiet
home page, click on the "Home" link on the navigation
bar or click on the "Cyberdiet.com" graphic from any page
on the site.
Technical
Advice
- Cyberdiet.com
is best viewed with either Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator,
versions 4.0 or higher.
- Many of the
programs on Cyberdiet.com (interactive tools, live chat,
etc.) are JAVA-based. If you use a service and a web browser that
is not compatible with JAVA scripting (WebTV or older versions
of AOL), you may have difficulty using these programs.
Be sure that
you have your cookies enabled in order to get the most benefit
from the site.
Sections
What
you'll find:
Our self assessment tools are designed to guide you as you embark
on your weight loss journey. Use them to determine whether you need
to lose weight, how much weight you need to lose for optimal health,
and how to set your weight loss goals.
Tips:
- Enter the
information as directed.
- You may wish
to print a copy of your results from the various assessment quizzes,
as they are not stored on the Cyberdiet server.
- Be sure to
share this information with your doctor or dietitian before using
it for your own weight loss program.
- Re-take these
assessments periodically, to see how your results change as you
progress on your journey!
What
you'll find:
These tools and articles will help you make wise food choices, whether
you are dining in a gourmet restaurant, stopping by the drive-thru
window at your favorite fast food joint, or cooking at home.
Tips:

Nutrition Profile before selecting one of our 12-Week
Menu Plans, so that you can choose a plan that's at the right
calorie level for you.
- Use our 1-2-3
Step to log your food choices, and receive feedback on how
your diet stacks up in terms of calories and other key nutrients.

weight management. Cyberdiet offers tips for incorporating exercise
into your life, and tools to help you succeed!

Personal Exercise Program provides basic and intermediate
training programs for aerobic conditioning, strength training,

Losing weight is more than just counting calories and working out.
Our "Feel Good" Section will help you deal with the psychological

Boards
- You can choose
how to view the Discussion Groups. By choosing collapse listing,
you see only the main post and not any replies (though there is
a number beside the post letting you know how many replies it
has). To view all of a post's response when the main listing is
collapsed, just click on the post. To view all responses and replies
in the main listing, click on expand listing.
- The newest
post is at the top of the main listing.
- Only the
first page of posts will be shown. Older posts will be moved to
additional pages, which can be accessed by clicking on the desired
page number at the top and bottom of the listing.
- Each post
includes the name of the poster, and the date and time that they
posted beside the name of the post. The time is in Central Standard
time, military format.
- Email addresses
are optional.
- If you see
a post you believe is in violation of our chat rules, please write
moderator@cyberdiet.com
with a link to the offending post.
Live Chat
- The chat
program is JAVA based. Browsers that do not accept JAVA scripting
(including some versions of AOL and WebTV) may not be able to
use the live chat program.
- Before entering
the chat room, you are asked to choose a name and a profile. The
profile is optional, and is simply a place to add a little more
about yourself. Or, you can choose to leave it blank. Remember
that if you include such things as your e-mail address, everyone
in the chat can see it.
- When typing
your responses, you will not see your name appear before them,
only the names of other people. However, everyone else in the
room can see your name. There is no need to type your name before
every response.
- Community
Leaders are identified by the use of CDHost or CD
before their name. They are there to ensure that everyone enjoys
their stay in Cyberdiet Live Chat, and do have the power to remove
participants who are being disruptive or breaking the Cyberdiet
chat rules.
- Chat rooms
are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, even if there is not
a scheduled chat or event.
Success Stories
- You
can submit your Story and upload a photograph right online! If
you've already submitted a Success Story, here's where you go
to update your Story. Be sure and remember your user name and
password!
- Photos must
be submitted with your Success Story. We will not accept Stories
without a photo.
- Photos should
be submitted in .jpg or .gif formats only. Submitting the
photograph in any other format will cause the submission to be
rejected.
- Cyberdiet
reserves the right to edit Stories for appropriateness and style.
Submitters will not be able to review the Story before it is published.
- Cyberdiet
reserves the right to reject a story for any reason, at any time.
Photo Album
- To submit
a photo for the Family Photo Album, send the photo as an email
attachment to chat@cyberdiet.com. Indicate your Cyberdiet user
name and the Cyberdiet discussion group with which you are most
active.
